Giga-Bites Art Market 2026

The space
Giga-Bites Tabletop Cafe has these art markets every few months, but this is the first one we’ve gotten to attend. This is also the first one that was held outside of the store rather than inside it. We were set up on the greenspace next to the store so there was lots of room, but being in the grass meant that the ground was a bit wet in the morning and there are some uneven spots. Plus bugs, bring bug spray.
The market
There were 14 artists at this event. The event coordinator did a great job selecting a variety of artists and ensuring no con slop or AI was present. Everyone’s booths were super cute and distinct.
The audience
The attendees were a mix of regulars to the cafe and people who seemed to come out specifically for the market, which is a great sign that the event’s marketing was uplifting the event. There wasn’t a massive crowd, but most people who wandered through bought at least one thing. What helped was the event had a sticker collecting quest for attendees that required them to visit every booth and complete a small puzzle. Not everyone doing the quest would buy something, but it at least encouraged people to stop and look.
The sales
We made just under 9.5x booth cost, so this was well worth our time.
For this 1-day event our total time investment was 6 hours of active vending, 1.5 hours of combined set-up and break-down time (total of 7.5 hours).
Items that sold the best were large prints, stickers, and totes. We sold three sketch card commissions. Most people paid with card rather than cash, though there was a good amount of cash mostly from younger attendees.
The rest
We discovered a giant mushroom in the area we were going to set up in. We set up our tent to protect him from getting squished. Everyone meet the unofficial mascot of the event, Dave. Yes, we made him two different cosplays.
